workshops

In these small workshops (4-12 people), we meet** for two sessions.

In the first session, I review the process of creating an advance directive. This includes a comprehensive tutorial including:

  • An overview of the advance directive process
  • How to choose a medical power of attorney
  • How to have conservations with your medical decision makers
  • A detailed review of the documents needed to complete the official advance directive.

In the second session, held approximately a week later, we reconvene after participants have had a chance to review the advance directive on their own and begin the process of having having conversations with their families. This is an opportunity to ask more questions and allow you to complete your advance directive documents.

**Offered only in the Maryland-Virginia-Washington, D.C. area

webinars

Webinars are similar to the workshops above, but are held remotely. These also meet in two sessions where the first session is to provide the information as above, and the second session is to answer more individualized questions.

speaking events

During my larger lecture style speaking events, I review the process of creating an advance directive.

This includes a comprehensive tutorial including an overview of the advance directive process, how to choose a medical power of attorney, how to have conservations with your medical decision makers, and a general review of the documents needed to complete the official advance directive.

There is time at the end of the session for general questions.

corporate events

I will come speak to your company about the process of creating an advance directive. This can be accomplished in either smaller workshops or larger speaking events.

teaching lectures for medical professionals

Discussing advance directives with patients can be challenging. Physicians and other medical providers are often under time constraints and these conversations are complex and nuanced.

I will teach you and your colleagues how to begin conversations about advance directives with your patients in a manner that is meaningful and significant. These can be in sessions of varying sizes and offered to a range of medical professionals from medical students to attending physicians and all others involved in the process.

The information I provide is not medical advice. It is for general education. Please discuss your specific medical concerns with your physician. I am not paid by any services I recommend.
